Another attempt at adapting a character and his themes to an original setting.
From the 'Hermit Faeries' 'verse. Made a bargain with one faerie to keep him out of the way of another, and is fumbling through the best he can...
Fae in this universe exist in isolation from each other, creating pocket domains centred around their ideals of what is right and wrong, and luring humans in to inhabit their worlds and share their views. A younger Seiji was almost trapped in one such realm but managed to flee last minute, encountering another faerie who promised him that he'd be able to live free in the outside world... at least, for some time. In turn, he'd be asked to be a watcher and a scout working in the name of the ideals of technology and progress.
He accepted, and ... everything changed.
A few years have passed since then.
Sage, as he's known (rather ironically) to a lot of his closer friends, has been through a lot. While he's rather tired and cynical in a lot of ways, he's held on, and has worked hard to help keep other people safe from the worst that the faerie realm has to offer. Despite the ideal that he works for, he's not the classic hacker or nerd type; most of his technological skills come straight from his fae-granted powers.
